History
Atlas Integrated Manufacturing Ltd. (AIM)
is a joint venture of Atlas Group (China and Hong Kong) and Integrated
Technology Group (USA). It would be necessary to visit the history of
both parent companies in order to fully understand AIM.
Atlas
Magtech Limited
was established in Hong Kong in 1976, first as a trading company. As
early as 1987, when China was still in the early stage of opening to the
rest of the world, Atlas established its first factory in the City of
Dongguan. Business grew quickly in both volume and diversity. Within 8
years, it opened its fourth factory in Huizhou. It has diversified from
its core business of producing ferrite magnets into other areas
including electronics, soft ferrite (plastic magnets), tooling and rare
earth magnets. When Atlas Group of companies celebrated its 30th
anniversary in 2006, the total employees world wide exceeded 5,000.

Over
in the USA, as early as 1955, Integrated Technology (at that time known
as Magnet Sales & Manufacturing), began distributing magnet
materials in California. During the 1980s, advances in material
sciences produced small and super powerful magnets, expanding the scope
of magnetic projects. To meet the unique demands of these projects, the
company added engineering, grinding, machining and assembly
capabilities. Today, the Integrated Technology Group is multi national,
multi discipline Design, Engineering and Manufacturing Group that
handles highly complex projects in the semi conductor, medical and
aerospace Industries.

In 2002 the owner
of Atlas, Mr. Cheung, and the owner of Integrated Magnetics, Mr.
Nanji, shared the common vision of creating a JV in China making
use of the supplementary advantages of each other companies.
While Atlas had the management skills, local connection and
experience, Integrated had the technological edge, engineering
and design capabilities and connection to some of the World
most demanding customers. The mission of the new JV was to be
able to supply high quality, complex, magnetic and mechanical
components and assemblies at China costs. This was the
incarnation of Atlas Integrated Manufacturing.
AIM was first
started in a 9,000 sq ft facility in Huizhou, a growing city
about 100 km north of the Hongkong/China boarder. In 2006 it
grew to about 120 employees, and its 15,000 sq ft facility was
saturated. In April 2007, it moved to its current location, a
40,000 sq ft brand new factory completed with shop, office,
dormitory, and more space to grow. It is ready to face new
challenges from new and old customers. Way to go, AIM! |
